One on One

$50 one hour

In your day to day life its important to bring awareness to how you move. Do you walk with ease or discomfort? Do you sit with mindfulness or without thinking about it too much. Many bodily imbalances stem from postural misalignments which could be greatly helped by the amount of time we spend engaging our bodies in our actions. In this tailored one on one hour we explore your habitual tendencies in movement in the context of how gravity affects you to look for ways to improve your overall health.

If you’d like to speak more to decide if this is the right work for you, schedule a Virtual Consultation.

All You Really Ever Do is Practice

Sacred Movement

Originating in the middle east, mindful movement has often been viewed as a pathway to enlightenment. It certainly seems like a worthwhile goal to enlighten your mind and body as you traverse this life. Bear in mind, a yoga practice is not about perfecting the poses or your body. And as I bring in movement practices that extend beyond traditional asanas, I use the phrase “Yog-ish.” It is about dedicating your time and energy into a practice that also has the flexibility to include play, silliness and sponteneity. My approach goes beyond the physical shapes of asana into your lifestyle, and the way you engage with life. The benefits you'll receive from this practice will be wide and varied - at the very least you will become more aware of the internal landscape of your body, its limits and its strengths.

In your day to day life, its important to be familiar with the feel of your own body. And as I always say - no one knows your body like you do. My class gives you hands on direction in the exploration of all the nooks and crannies of your body. I demonstrate techniques for moving and working with areas of the body that typically hold tension, either through postures, with your own hands, or with the help of a prop. In this way, I give you tools to heal yourself for longevity and upkeep of your body.

For the Mommas-To-Be

Engaging in Movement Practices

In the midst of the most tumuluous contractions you will be able to calm yourself by focusing on your breathing, as you will have learned to do in your yoga practice. Yoga can help you to flow with the challenging transformation of pregnancy and birth. It can bring you greater self-awareness, and it can increase your awareness of your child’s presence inside of your body. And by making you more aware of the miracle of creation taking place within and through your body, the exercises can prepare you to love and nourish your baby in the years to come.
— Janet Balaskas (Author of Active Birth)

Consider a Pregancy Session to allow yourself to be cared for as you undergo this transformation.

*Given the context Covid-19 I have decided to take up some extra precautions when offering this service and am offering these classes in open locations to allow participants to have as much space as possible. That said, please know that we will enforce social distancing as we move together. Please respect others' choice to wear a mask if they want. PLEASE do not join if you are showing any symptoms associated with the virus, because I will have to turn away folks who appear obviously sick. PLUS, please RSVP if you're planning on coming, because I will need to limit the number of participants.
